Nasta, now retired, was a preschool educator and tour guide at the American Museum of Natural History. She studied poetry with different teachers for fifty years. Her poetry references her Brooklyn neighborhood and New York City; portrays the joys and challenges of human relationships; and poses philosophical questions about human nature.
Carol Ann Nasta, who was born and bred in Queens, NYC, and is a lifelong New Yorker. She received BFA and MS degrees from Hunter College, and taught mainly early childhood at PS 155, Brooklyn. She likes to say the kids brought out ‘the child within’, and she enjoyed her career. She's a jazz enthusiast; has traveled a lot; has been a tour guide at the American Museum of Natural History for over thirty years; she respects and loves animals and is studying Italian, the language of her heritage. High Season: Poems and Musings is her first collection of poetry. The poems were written between the late 1960s and contemporary times.
